Colorado Fans Showed Out for Deion Sanders’ First Spring Game With Program

Colorado fans came out in full force for a chance to see Deion Sanders era commence at Saturday’s Black and Gold spring game.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, the images from Folsom Field speak volumes.

Sanders’ impact as the new head coach of the Buffaloes is at a fever-pitch, despite their season opener at TCU still over four months away. Coming off of a dismal 1–11 season, the expectations are at an all-time high with Coach Prime at the helm.

A stunning video was posted to Twitter Saturday that showed the attendance of last season’s spring game—prior to Sander’s arrival—with a paltry crowd of several thousand fans. Immediately following that disappointing audience was a video featuring a massive sellout crowd at the 2023 event.

The game, which was broadcasted on ESPN, captured an excited fan base that is yearning for Sanders’ arrival to help put the program back on the national map.

Front Office Sports reported that the 2023 spring game was expected to have “more fans than its last nine combined.“

Those expectations were clearly achieved.

The team made the decision to charge $10 for admission after always allowing fans to attend for free in previous years. Saturday’s sellout crowd, despite the new monetary demand for entrance, illustrates just how powerful the ‘Coach Prime Effect’ is among the Colorado faithful.
