Officials Interrupt ESPN's Florida-Missouri Postgame Interview to Put One Second Back on Clock

Upon further review, 60 minutes wasn't enough.

Saturday evening, No. 9 Missouri won a 33–31 thriller over Florida on a last-second field goal by Harrison Mevis. It punctuated a wild affair that included a desperation Tigers fourth-and-17 conversion and a spirited Gators rally from nine points down in the fourth quarter.

Even more impressive is the fact that Missouri technically had to win the game twice.

With five seconds left on the clock, Mevis drilled his 30-yarder to seemingly put a bow on yet another victory in the Tigers' charmed 2023 season. Players and coaches meandered on to the field. ESPN's Katie George went to interview victorious Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz.

But wait! There's more! Officials put a pause on the interview to put one second back on the clock, which ended in an academic Florida play that once again handed victory to the Tigers.

Missouri-Florida appeared to be over. Coaches shook hands. Players headed to the locker room.

Eli Drinkwitz was in the middle of his post-game interview with ESPN and then... the officials announced that 1 second was being put on the clock. My God.

Lightening the mood was perhaps the single funniest camera shot of this season: a view of the Faurot Field coaches' box, largely desolate with headsets strewn across desks.

Florida fans may disagree, but in terms of sheer entertainment value it was truly a game so nice they had to end it twice.
