Florida's Jac Caglianone Hits Home Run in Eighth Consecutive Game

The Florida Gators may not have picked up a win against No. 13 Vanderbilt on Thursday, but the team's biggest slugger managed to keep a most impressive streak alive from the batter's box.

Jac Caglianone launched an opposite field home run during the seventh inning of Thursday's loss, marking the eighth consecutive ballgame in which the junior has gone yard. He now sits just one shy of the all-time NCAA baseball mark of nine consecutive games with a home run, which was set by former University of Nevada slugger Tyler Bosetti in 2021.

Caglianone is tied with Andy Bruce of Georgia Tech and Ryan Jackson of Duke, who both recorded eight straight games with home runs back in 1991 and '94, respectively.

This season, Caglianone, who both bats and pitches, is hitting .407 with 21 home runs and 45 RBI across 37 games. During his scalding eight-game home run streak, the 21-year-old has 14 hits, 15 RBI and 13 runs scored.

Florida plays again on Friday night on the road against the Commodores at 6 p.m. ET, at which point Caglianone will look to add yet another home run to his impressive streak.
