All-American DL McKinnley Jackson to Texas A&M

Coveted defensive line recruit McKinnley Jackson picks Texas A&M over Alabama, LSU and Auburn on National Signing Day.

Arguably the most important race on National Signing Day has come to an end. McKinnley Jackson is headed to Texas A&M.

The senior announced his destination Wednesday at his high school as part of its signing day ceremony.

The Lucedale (Miss.) George County standout defensive lineman has been a known recruit for three years, thanks in large part to his size and production. The 6-foot-2, 330-pound prospect notched double-digit sacks from the defensive interior over each of the last three seasons.

Jackson, the consensus top overall prospect in the state of Mississippi's 2020 class, capped his prep career with standout performances both at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game as well as at the All-American Bowl in Texas.

Alabama got an official visit out of Jackson in the fall but he returned to Tuscaloosa for an unofficial visit in January. During the final month of the cycle he also took official visits to Texas A&M and national champion LSU.

It was Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies who received the final official visit, wrapping up Sunday.
