Paralympian Erik Hightower is asking for help in recovering his most prized possession -- his racing wheelchair, which he used to set the American 100-meter record.

One of Hightower's relatives was visiting a family member in an Ohio hospital and left the racing wheels in a trailer in the parking lot. When they returned about an hour later someone had taken the $5,000 custom-made rig.

Hightower says that the setup has been custom-fit to his needs and is virtually useless to anyone else, and he fears that it may simply be sold for scrap metal. The gold medalist added that he does not wish to press charges, only to recover the wheelchair.
