Jordan Brand is letting people try, but not buy, the Air Jordan XX9 in Vegas

Nike and Jordan Brand are giving consumers a chance to try out but not purchase the new Air Jordan XX9 in Las Vegas this weekend.

Air Jordan fans will get a chance to get their hands on the new Air Jordan XX9 this weekend in Las Vegas as part of Jordan Brand's "First to Fly" event.

Fans can head to the Cosmopolitan Hotel where the Jumpman will be providing live music, a gaming area and even a Jordan Brand barbershop, in addition to question-and-answer sessions with Jordan sponsored athletes and a 3-on-3 tournament.

Most importantly though, sneakerheads will get some hands-on experience with the hotly anticipated shoe, which was revealed in April but will not hit store shelves until September 6.

Does it mean that Jordan collecting is out of control when people will wait in the Las Vegas sun all day just to get a chance to see, but not buy, a pair of shoes?
