Pirates fan in Giants dugout was supposed to be there (Updated)

An elderly woman wearing a Pittsburgh Pirate jersey found her way into the San Francisco Giants dugout during Wednesday night's playoff game.

UPDATE: It turns out the woman was a credentialed worker and was simply relaying a message to a photographer next to the dugout. Which is comforting for security reasons, but disappointing for fun.

An elderly woman wearing a Pittsburgh Pirates jersey found her way into the San Francisco Giants dugout during Wednesday night's playoff game.

Cameras caught the woman talking with a police officer guarding the visiting Giants dugout in the top of the second inning, with outfielder Hunter Pence strolling right by her on his way back from an at-bat.

The fan was presumably escorted back to the proper seats, where no one would believe her improbable tale, as it seems impossible to simply wander into an opposing team's dugout during a playoff game.

The police officer himself does not even seem able to believe it, as he tries to motion for an explanation from a fellow security officer.

The Giants drubbed the Pirates 8-0 to move on to the NLDS.
