NBA warns players not to celebrate with 'three goggles' in Brazil

The NBA issued a memo to Cavaliers and Heat players this week to refrain from using the "three-goggles" gesture when they tip-off on Saturday in Brazil as part of the league's Global Games initiatives.

The signal is often used by players after making a big shot, but in Brazil, apparently, it means something else.

Chris Haynes of Northeast Media Group with the explanation:

"Holding up the "three-sign" or the "three-goggles" in a certain way while in Brazil could be mistaken for "f--- you" or "f--- off," I was informed. "

The NBA sent a warning to its players with a list of gestures that were inappropriate to use.

There's no word yet on what those other gestures are, but I'd love to know if there's an NBA memo somewhere in Brazil with the words, "big balls dance," which was a performance made famous by Sam Cassell and has since resulted in fines for players who do the dance in the NBA.
