Sunday Night Smashdown

The Patriots took center stage on Sunday night and throttled the favored (and overrated) Colts in Indianapolis. Rob Gronkowski had his third straight game with at least one touchdown catch and celebrated by busting out some funny dance moves on the sideline. Though Indy got embarrassed on national television, at least offensive lineman Anthony Castonzo provided fans with the best celebration of the week.

Around the NFL

The clocks stopped working in the second half of the Bears-Vikings game in Chicago, and Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer was really not happy about that... Emmanuel Sanders got absolutely destroyed on the biggest hit of the weekend, leading to Wikipedia pronouncing him dead... J.J. Watt made a great catch for his second receiving touchdown this season... Eli Manning threw five (FIVE!) interceptions against the 49ers, including one of the worst picks I've ever seen in my life... Odell Beckham is a treasure... Ricardo Lockettte was ejected for throwing a punch against the Chiefs... Titans tight end Chase Coffman was fined for throwing a cheap shot on a Ravens assistant... Don't touch Bennie Logan's butt... The Raiders are still not good, and neither are the Bears.

Bad Behavior in New Orleans

Fans attending yesterday's Saints-Bengals game in New Orleans were on their very worst behavior, and cameras took notice. Jimmy Graham has officially retired from jumping into the crowd to celebrate touchdowns after getting violated by a fan dressed as The Joker. Another dude elbowed a woman in the face to steal a football that Jermaine Gresham tried to throw her way. The guy remorselessly ignored her pleas to have the ball but she eventually got a replacement anyways.

Lovely Lady of the Day

Former San Diego Chargers cheerleader Paige Breon celebrated her 23rd birthday over the weekend so we figured it'd be as good a time as any to feature her as LLOD (click here for full-size gallery).

Shoutout to this guy from Southern Utah for providing the most hilarious highlight of the weekend.

Bad Luck for Gurley

Georgia running back Todd Gurley returned from a four-game suspension to play against Auburn on Saturday but suffered a torn ACL in the fourth quarter. Always hate to see that, but it especially sucks for a guy who is expected to declare for the NFL Draft next year.

A True Hero

A brave man at the Minnesota Golden Gophers game this weekend showed us that it's never, NEVER too cold for ice cream.

Odds and Ends

The best GIFs and Vines from NFL action this weekend... Woody Harrelson poked fun at the NFL during a skit on Saturday Night Live... Someone heaved a stool at a boxer after his win... An AHL exec got a prostate exam during a game to raise awareness for men's health... A Kickstarter is asking for $22 million to make a movie about Derek Jeter... A female UFC fighter almost lost her ear in a bout... The Lakers are so bad that Jack Nicholson is now sleeping at games... Javale McGee airballed a free throw... Western Kentucky's president skydived into this weekend's game.

Best Day Ever

Northwestern upset Notre Dame over the weekend and got treated to some Chik-Fil-A after the game. This was apparently pretty good news for one of their players.
