Paul Finebaum's Iron Bowl show caller wants to talk Fordham football

The first caller into Paul Finebaum's live Iron Bowl show didn't want to talk about Auburn or Alabama, but rather about Fordham. He tells SI.com about why he called into Finebaum's show.

Paul Finebaum held a live call-in show during Saturday's Iron Bowl between Alabama and Auburn. The first caller wanted to talk Fordham Rams football.

"Uhh, yeah, I wanted to talk about Fordham football?" said the supposed Dauphin, Ala., fan. Don't we all.

It turns out that Fordham football fan is Jimmy Vasiliou, a Charlotte man with a close friend who's a Fordham alum. The Rams' football team has something of a "cult" following, and Vasiliou and his friend decided to call into Finebaum's one-of-a-kind live show Saturday.

Vasiliou received a busy signal, but his friend, the Fordham alum, got through and handed the phone over.

"We've been pushing for Fordham to be at the front of the national consciousness," Vasiliou told SI.com by phone Saturday night.

Fordham defeated Sacred Heart 44-22 on Saturday in the first round of the FCS playoffs. The 12th-seeded Rams play at top-seeded New Hampshire next weekend.

As for that other game, the Iron Bowl? Auburn leads Alabama, 26-21, at halftime.
