Clemson is claiming Santa Claus as an alum to impress recruits

Thursday December 18th, 2014

Clemson is calling in a favor from a high-profile alumnus to impress recruits this holiday season: Santa Claus.

That is right, not only is Clemson sending 18-year-olds a letter from Santa Claus in an effort to impress them, they are also claiming St. Nick is a graduate of the class of 1896.

The carefully handwritten note lets recruits know that coach Dabo Swinney has been monitoring their position on the naughty or nice list and that Clemson is a fine place for them to play football.

Santa spelled Rudolph with an "f" instead of a "ph" in the letter, which could be a mistake, although who would know better than Santa what the reindeer's preferred spelling is.
