Two furniture companies in Ohio are pledging to fully refund all purchases of $1,999 or more made by 7 p.m. on Dec. 30 if Ohio State wins the national championship by seven or more points, according to the Dayton Daily News.
Morris Home Furniture Store and Ashley’s Furniture Home Store, which has stores in Cincinnati, Columbus and Dayton, will give the refund on purchases of furniture, mattresses or accessories.
The promotion has been so popular already that more than 700 people have already shopped, and the offer has been extended for another week.
It's not the first time a furniture store has run a similar promotion, and if the Buckeyes fill the requirements it won't be the first time a store gets burned.
A store in College Station, Texas, owed fans more than $1 million after the Aggies beat South Carolina by more than 10 points in their season opener, and the Houston Astros won fans $4 million in refunds in September for not losing 100 games in 2014.
To reach the Jan. 12 national championship, Ohio State will have to beat Alabama on New Year's Day.
