Tom Coughlin has become known for his red-hued visage and his frequently unpleasant demeanor on the New York Giants' sideline, and the curmudgeony behavior he extends to players and press alike.

Coughlin, however, embraced his softer side on Friday morning, when he traveled to Florida to read to the class of his grandson, Wes, one of the 68-year-old coach's 11 grandchildren.

Perhaps Coughlin has learned to embrace the downtime the offseason provides, or maybe all those grandchildren have softened the famously churlish two-time Super Bowl winner.

Either way, those kids better have been in class five minutes early, because with Tom Coughlin, if you're on time, you're late.
