Houston Baptist rocks incredible 1970s throwback jerseys in win

The Houston Baptist Huskies didn't just celebrate a 74-73 win over New Orleans on Saturday night. They celebrated high fashion.
The team's incredible throwback uniforms, apparently inspired by the 1973-74 team, featured a cartoon dog dribbling a basketball and aggressively striped shorts that wouldn't have looked out of place in a Harlem Globetrotters' catalog.
The jerseys coincided with the evening's festivities honoring former Houston Baptist players from the 1960s and 1970s who were announced as part of the school's all-decade teams.

Even coach Steven Key got in on the fun. Key gave a shout out after the game to apparel company Brand40, tweeting that it was responsible for the team's "sartorial excellence."
Have the Huskies tapped in to something powerful with their mode of dress? The win moved an often-beleaguered Houston Baptist squad to 7-8, and the team has a chance to hit the .500 mark on Monday night when it takes on Central Arkansas at home.
