Harlem Globetrotters' Buckets Blakes sets underhand half court shot record

Tuesday January 27th, 2015

Harlem Globetrotters' Buckets Blakes is the previous world record holder for the most underhand halfcourt shots made in one minute, and after briefly giving up the title, he sank six in just over 40 seconds to get the record back where it belongs.

Once you see the video you get a much better idea of just how difficult a feat it is to make that many half-courters shooting underhand. Blakes puts a lot behind each shot and with that much spin and force you are not going to get very favorable bounces.

New England Patriots get a wake up call from a fire alarm

Blakes joins his teammate Thunder Law, who has the records for longest basketball shot and longest backwards shot, in the Guinness Book of World Records.
