UConn and Syracuse engage in Twitter battle over the weather

Much of the Northeastern United States is in the grips of a cold spell, so UConn used its Twitter account to try to keep students' spirits high with a joke at the expense of its former Big East rival Syracuse.

Syracuse noticed the tweet and let the Huskies know it was holding up just fine in the cold weather.

The Syracuse response was pretty friendly, but UConn is not going to pass up any opportunity to mention the recent success of its men's and women's basketball teams.
@SyracuseU Fair enough. We only have these to keep us warm. pic.twitter.com/39qrJV5Wcf

Now that the teams are in separate conferences they will have to continue to do battle on the fields of social media platforms, which is much sadder than when they faced off on the basketball court.
