Joey Logano has been involved in NASCAR since he was just 18, so he may have missed out on a few days of school to spend some extra time at the track, which would explain a blunder he made while talking to David Letterman Monday night.

Letterman, a big motorsports fan himself, asked the 2015 Daytona 500 winner if the race car weighed over a ton, to which Logano replied, "No they are not that much, they are like 3,100 pounds."

The answer so amused Letterman that he got out from behind his desk and sat next to Logano, who never quite seemed to figure out what everyone was laughing at.

Luckily for the driver, he has teams of engineers to do math for him these days.
