The 'Villanova Piccolo Girl' stopped by 'The Tonight Show' Monday to a play the Wildcats fight song
Roxanne Chalifoux, otherwise known as The "Villanova Piccolo Girl," visited 'The Tonight Show' Monday to play the Villanova fight song under much happier circumstances.
Chalifoux, a Villanova fan, became an internet sensation when television cameras caught her crying while still dutifully playing her team's fight song with the school band following the Wildcats' upset NCAA tournament loss Saturday to North Carolina State.
While memes popped up left and right in the ensuing hours after the cameras caught her, Chalifoux was a good sport, and on Monday's show even lent a little context to her grief.
She saw herself crying on the jumbotron at Pittsburgh's CONSOL Energy Center, she told Fallon. She just hoped her dad, who was at the game as well, didn't look up and see her.
Instead, the whole country saw her on national television.
Fallon wanted to make sure Chalifoux left the show in strong spirits, though, so he made a few calls and got her a pretty memorable gift.
