Nike will outfit Marcus Mariota with custom 808 shoes for NFL draft

Former Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota will not be in attendance in Chicago on Thursday night for the 2015 NFL draft, choosing instead to stay at home with his family in Hawaii. But that won't stop him from celebrating becoming a professional football player in style.
Nike will outfit the reigning Heisman Trophy winner on Thursday with custom 808 shoes that will come in a box made of pure Hawaiian wood.
Mariota was one of many draft prospects to sign with Nike, a group which also includes Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, Alabama receiver Amari Cooper, Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon and Georgia running back Todd Gurley.
Mariota is projected as the second pick in the draft behind Winston, although it's not known if the team that takes him will be the Tennessee Titans, who currently own that No. 2 pick.
