Watch: John Axford's two-year-old son throws first pitch

A little more than a month after he was bitten by a rattlesnake, John Axford's son threw out the first pitch before a Rockies game.

A little more than a month after he was bitten on the foot twice by a rattlesnake, John Axford's two-year-old son threw out the first pitch before Friday's Rockies vs. Dodgers game at Coors Field.

Jameson Axford was bitten in late March while he was with his family in Arizona for spring training and spent four weeks in intensive care. 

Doctors initially feared they would have to amputate his foot. While the foot was saved, Jameson will still need skin graft surgery and other skin-regeneration procedures, according to MLB.com. 

Jameson is still unable to walk, so he took the field in a wheelchair. He threw the first pitch to his father and brother.
