Watch: Chris Paul quotes Ricky Bobby after Clippers lose Game 7

After the Los Angeles Clippers lost Game 7 of the NBA's Western Conference semifinals to the Houston Rockets, Chris Paul quoted Ricky Bobby from Talledega Nights.

Chris Paul has been to the playoffs seven times, but he's never advanced past the second round.

After the Clippers lost 113–100 to the Rockets in Game 7 of their second-round series, Paul shared some words of wisdom from a Will Ferrell movie.

"Ricky Bobby, like I said, if you're not first you're last," Paul told reporters after the game. "Being close ain't good enough."

Of course, that's the motto of the titular character in Ferrell's Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. It's what Bobby's dad tells him after being forcibly removed from an elementary school career day and becomes his catch phrase.

But Paul must have forgotten the end of the movie, when Bobby's dad says, "Aw, hell, Ricky. I was high when I said that. That doesn't make any sense at all."
