Stephen Curry sends David Lee off by recalling time he blocked him

The Golden State Warriors are finalizing a deal to send forward David Lee to the Boston Celtics, SI.com’s Chris Mannix confirmed on Tuesday.

NBA MVP—and Lee’s road locker-mateStephen Curry quickly responded to the report with a nice tweet to Lee, writing as follows:

”In honor of my boy @Dlee042 taking the next step in his career, this is how we started our relationship! Love you bro”

That’s a nice sentiment from Curry, who spent all but one of his six NBA seasons on the same team with Lee.

Attached to the tweet, though, was a link to a throwback YouTube clip that makes this whole thing more of a one-sided trip down memory lane.

Damn! That’s from a Nov. 13, 2009, game when Curry—as a rookie—blocked then-New York Knicks forward Lee as he drove to the hoop. Curry appeared to yell something after the block, and after the ensuing possession, Lee appeared to take issue with Curry.

Nothing a little NBA title can’t cure, though, right?
