Watch Daniel Bryan’s WWE goodbye after concussions force him to retire

After announcing Monday afternoon that concussions had forced him to retire from pro wrestling, Daniel Bryan said goodbye to WWE fans during an emotional appearance RAW.
Bryan didn’t shy away from the fact that he was calling it a career due to brain injuries, saying “Within the first five months of my wrestling career I’d already had three concussions.”
“A week and a half ago I took a test that said maybe my brain wasn’t as OK as I thought it was,” he continued.
The crowd in Seattle also saw a video tribute to Bryan’s career.
After the show, Bryan also spoke with WWE.com to discuss how it felt to say farewell.
Many of Bryan’s fellow wrestlers also paid tribute to him on Twitter.

Bryan had not competed since suffering a concussion on a European tour in April. He had reportedly been cleared twice by independent doctors but hadn’t received clearance from WWE’s medical team.
