After starting out his career with rocky free throw percentages, Whiteside has posted a 61% mark from the stripe this season, and converted 79% of the time over his past 11 games. Why? Because it’s like sipping on some hot cocoa to him, that’s why.

“I feel comfortable at the line,” Whiteside said after Miami’s 112–102 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday. “You know when it’s a rainy day, and you get hot chocolate, and you put a nice movie on and tuck yourself in? That’s how comfortable I feel at the free throw line.”
