Minor league team unveils three 80s-themed jerseys

The Frisco RoughRiders will wear three special jerseys this season that will make children of the '80s awfully nostalgic.

The Frisco RoughRiders will wear three special jerseys this season that will make children of the '80s awfully nostalgic.

For a trio of games in June and July, the Riders will wear uniforms that pay tribute to three of the biggest pop culture staples of the '80s.

First up is an homage to Top Gun, everyone’s favorite Tom Cruise fighter jet movie. Fans will be able to play beach volleyball, provided they dress like the characters in the scene.

Minor league team honors breakfast sandwich with bobbleheads

The Game Boy jersey the Riders will wear on July 8 features the player’s number in an eight-bit font. The team also has video game-themed entertainment planned.

Two weeks after the Ghostbusters reboot debuts, the Riders are wearing jerseys that pay tribute to the original 1984 film. Ernie Hudson, who played Winston Zeddmore, will be in attendance.

With these jerseys and the lazy river they installed in the outfield, the Riders may be the most entertaining team in the minors.
