Was that Randy Orton injury at SummerSlam staged, or real?

Brock Lesnar defeated Randy Orton by “technical knockout” to end WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night after Orton’s head was cut open.

Several minutes into the match, Lesnar took down Orton and began to deliver elbows directly to the head. Orton then began to pour blood from the head as Lesnar continued to hit him. After a couple of minutes, the match was stopped, and though Lesnar backed off, he ran in a few more times to get off some more shots.

Shane McMahon, the commissioner of SmackDown, then rushed the ring to stop Lesnar and was hit with an F5.

After the match, WWE.com reported that Orton required 10 staples to close the wound.

The world was left questioning whether or not the injury was real, considering the amount of blood in the ring, and the performance around it. This could be used to fuel the SmackDown–Raw rivalry (Lesnar is a RAW superstar) or strengthen Lesnar as heel. Orton either cut himself to sell the spot, and a little too much blood came out, or Lesnar really busted him open.
