Report: Calvin Johnson will be on 'Dancing With the Stars'

Former Lions receiver Calvin Johnson reportedly will compete on the upcoming season of 'Dancing With the Stars.'

Former Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson will compete on the upcoming season of Dancing With the Stars, reports Entertainment Tonight.

Johnson is joining a cast that includes fellow athletes Laurie Hernandez and Ryan Lochte and celebrities such as Vanilla Ice and former Texas governor Rick Perry, according to the report.

Johnson was consistently one of the best receivers in the NFL until his abrupt retirement at age 31 earlier this year. The former Georgia Tech star played nine years in the NFL, recording 731 receptions, 11,619 yards and 83 touchdowns.

DWTS has frequently featured NFL players, with Von Miller, Jason Taylor, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith and Antonio Brown among those who have previously competed on the show.
