Browns’ Myles Garrett Says He’s Trying to Recruit Odell Beckham Jr.

The Browns’ first go-around with wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. ended in acrimonious fashion.

After a March 2019 trade brought him to Cleveland amid much fanfare, Beckham Jr. and then-Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield struggled to build a rapport. After Beckham Jr.’s father posted a lengthy video on Instagram on Nov. 2, 2021 dissecting Cleveland quarterbacks frequently missing his open son, the Browns waived him.

However, time and Mayfield’s departure may have healed the wounds between franchise and player, as Cleveland defensive end Myles Garrett hinted Wednesday that he was working on recruiting Beckham Jr. back to Cleveland in free agency.

“Myles get OBJs a-- back here immediately brother,” a fan wrote on Instagram, to which Garrett responded, “I’m working on it.”

Beckham Jr. hasn't played since Feb. 13, 2022, when he tore his ACL during the Rams’ 23–20 win over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI. He has remained a free agent for the last calendar year.

The 30-year-old is a three-time Pro Bowler and five-time 1,000-yard receiver, and he garnered second-team AP All-Pro honors in 2015 and 2016.
