Steph Curry Expertly Roasted the Kings At End of His Historic Game 7 Performance

Stephen Curry was absolutely feeling himself during his historic Game 7 performance against the Kings on Sunday. After dropping a record-setting 50 points, the Warriors’ superstar took a jab at Sacramento’s signature “Light the Beam” rally call.

When Golden State called a late timeout in the fourth quarter after putting the game out of reach of the Kings, Curry proceeded to spike the ball onto the hardwood before imitating slamming the button that lights the beam outside of the Golden 1 Center.

The Kings won’t be lighting the beam after their loss on Sunday, so Curry took it upon himself to make the gesture on their behalf after putting an end to their season.

Curry was the clear catalyst behind the Warriors’s win in the do-or-die game, knocking down seven threes en route to 50 points.

The 35-year-old checked out of the 120-100 victory with 2:39 left in the fourth quarter, just moments after reaching the half-century mark with a driving layup.

Kings fans have rallied around the beloved beam throughout the season, during which Sacramento snapped its 16-year playoff drought, which was the longest among major professional sports teams in the nation.

Despite having trailed 2-0 in the first-round series, Curry and the Warriors rallied back and won four of their next five games. A comeback of that magnitude deserves to be celebrated, and Curry wasn’t waiting for the final whistle before soaking in the moment on Sunday.
