Celebrities, Sports Icons Showed Out for Deion Sanders’s Home Debut at Colorado

As if Colorado and first-year football coach Deion Sanders weren’t already one of the hottest stories in college sports, the guest list for the Buffaloes’ home opener on Saturday further proved just how popular the program has become.

The No. 22-ranked Buffaloes, fresh off a season-opening upset of TCU, hosted a who’s who of famous faces for their first game of the season in Boulder, with football legends such as Michael Irvin and Shannon Sharpe on hand to watch the team take on visiting Nebraska.

Sharpe, who recently left FS1 for ESPN, attended the game alongside his new colleague and First Take co-host Stephen A. Smith. In addition to Sharpe and Irvin, a third Pro Football Hall of Famer was in the house on Saturday in Terrell Owens, while iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan was also spotted in the crowd.

Based on Saturday’s turnout, the upstart Buffaloes appear to be in line for a season where the spotlight will shine just as brightly on the sidelines as it will on the field.
