Packers-Bears Nearly Brawled After Hit on Justin Fields

When the Bears and Packers clash each season in their longstanding NFC North rivalry, it brings out high emotion and a strong level of physicality from both teams.

On Sunday, things were no different as the two teams shared a heated moment near the 3:00 minute mark in the first quarter. Bears quarterback Justin Fields was scrambling to Chicago’s sideline before he stepped out of bounds.

As Fields stepped off the field of play, Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander delivered a late shove on the Bears’ signal-caller. Officials did not assess Alexander with a penalty, indicating that it was a clean hit.

However, after the play, tempers flared and Bears offensive lineman Lucas Patrick came over and tussled and pushed on Alexander.

From there, a host of additional players from both teams came to the sideline in defense before returning to the field for play. Green Bay entered Sunday’s game having won the last eight matchups against Chicago, primarily due to the play of their former quarterback and four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers

However, with Rodgers now with the Jets and Jordan Love under center in Green Bay, the Bears will seek to get their first win against the Packers since Dec. 16, 2018, when they defeated their rival, 24-17.
