Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes Joint Top Scorer In Euro 2024 Qualifiers After Powerful Strike To Help Portugal Beat Liechtenstein

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 10th goal in eight Euro 2024 qualifiers as Portugal won 2-0 away to Liechtenstein on Thursday.

Ronaldo hammered home a powerful strike with his left foot 59 seconds into the second half after racing onto a through pass from Diogo Jota.

The 38-year-old celebrated by patting his left thigh muscle.

Joao Cancelo later scored Portugal's second goal of the game.

Ronaldo's goal against Liechtenstein came moments after the Al Nassr captain had struck the post.

He had also gone close to opening the scoring in the first half with a spectacular effort from a bicycle kick.

Thursday's goal saw Ronaldo move level with Romelu Lukaku at the top of the list of leading scorers in Euro 2024 qualifiers.

Lukaku's 10 goals have come in seven games for Belgium.

England captain Harry Kane, Denmark forward Rasmus Hojlund and Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay are currently tied for third place with seven goals.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland and Zeki Amdouni have all scored six goals so far in Euro 2024 qualifying.
