Cristiano Ronaldo Produces Horror Miss From Three Yards vs. Al Ain in AFC Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo produced one of the most shocking misses of his career on Monday night during Al Nassr's AFC Champions League game against Al Ain.

It came in the 61st minute when the game was tied at 2-2 but Al Nassr were 3-2 down on aggregate, having lost 1-0 at Al Ain in the first leg of their quarter-final contest.

Al Ain keeper Khalid Eisa spilt a tame shot from Ali Lajami straight into the path of Ronaldo but the former Real Madrid goal machine then shot wide from three yards.

Eisa had earlier been at fault for Al Nassr's first two goals.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored in first-half added time after Eisa recklessly raced out of his penalty area in a bid to take the ball off Sadio Mane.

Eisa - who has been capped more than 70 times by the UAE at senior international level - then scored an own goal.

This occurred when the 34-year-old deflected a cross from Otavio into his own net.

After his next blunder went unpunished by Ronaldo, Eisa made another error that resulted in Alex Telles scoring direct from a free-kick.

Telles beat Eisa with an inswinging set-piece delivery from the right flank. Eisa got two hands on the ball but failed to keep it out.

It was now 3-3 on aggregate and, with the away goals rule recently abolished, extra time was required.

Aiman Yahya was sent off for Al Nassr eight minutes into extra time and the 10 men then fell behind when Sultan Al-Shamsi punished another goalkeeping mistake, this time by Raghid Al-Najjar.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, Al Nassr hit back to make it 4-4 on aggregate when Ronaldo won and converted a penalty kick in the 118th minute.

This was the 750th goal of Ronaldo's club career.

Ronaldo then scored again in a penalty shootout.

But teammates Marcelo Brozovic, Telles and Otavio all failed to convert their spot-kicks as Al Ain prevailed 3-1.
