Cristiano Ronaldo Reaches 125 Goals For Portugal With Brace In Win Over Slovakia

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 124th and 125th goals of his senior international career on Friday night.

Ronaldo's brace helped Portugal beat Slovakia 3-2 in a Euro 2024 qualifier in Porto.

That result sealed Portugal's place at next summer's European Championship.

Bruno Fernandes set up Goncalo Ramos to fire Portugal in front before Ronaldo converted a penalty kick in the 29th minute to make it 2-0.

David Hancko pulled a goal back for Slovakia midway through the second half, only for Ronaldo to score again with a tap-in moments later following another Fernandes assist.

Stanislav Lobotka scored brilliantly from long range to set up a nervous final 10 minutes for Portugal, but the 2016 European champions held on for three points.

Ronaldo has now scored seven goals in six appearances for Portugal this year.

Remarkably, 73 of Ronaldo's 125 international goals have come since his 30th birthday.

Ronaldo is not only the leading scorer in international soccer. The 38-year-old's tally of 857 goals for club and country makes him the most prolific scorer in soccer history, period.

Ronaldo's first goal on Friday was his 100th since the start of 2021. He has therefore now scored at least 100 goals in three different decades.
