Watch Lionel Messi's Personal Bodyguard Tackle Pitch Invader Who Tried To Touch Inter Miami Captain

Lionel Messi's personal bodyguard sprung into action during the second half of Inter Miami's 3-1 win at LAFC on Sunday.

Yassine Chueko was recently hired by Miami to look after Messi following a personal recommendation from club president David Beckham.

Part of Chueko's role is to stay as close as possible to Messi while he is on the field to protect him against pitch invaders.

Chueko effectively man marks Messi during Miami games, albeit from the edge of the field.

But Chueko stormed onto the field in the 73rd minute on Sunday after a pitch invader made a beeline for Messi, who was stood in the center of the playing area.

A male fan, dressed in a Barcelona jersey printed with Messi's name, had a significant head start on Chueko, allowing him to reach his hero milliseconds before the former soldier.

However, Chueko ensured that the pitch invader's interaction with Messi was very brief by grabbing him and dragging him towards the touchline before handing him over to three members of stadium security staff.

Messi produced two assists during Sunday's game, setting up goals for Jordi Alba and Leonardo Campana.

Facundo Farias also scored for Miami, before Ryan Hollingshead headed in a late consolation goal for LAFC.
