Though agent Drew Rosenhaus claims his client, Giants receiver Plaxico Burress, was busy dealing with a family emergency, the Giants still suspended their star receiver when he skipped out on Monday's workout. No matter the cause, Burress' two-week suspension will cost fantasy owners a game of Burress' work on Oct. 5 against the Seahawks. Coupled with the Giants bye this weekend, that's a potential killer for fantasy owners. Luckily, there are a few receivers emerging (Brandon Lloyd, Antonio Bryant) who can ease the hit.

Mr. Smith Comes To The Draft

We've never quote been comfortable knowing where to select Atlanta's Josh Smith in an NBA fantasy draft. On the one hand he is a blocks machine who can score and add a few steals. But he's often been an iffy shooter while offering little from the three-point line. That doesn't quite spell out first round. It does spell out late second round, argues Ron Chow of Dropping Dimes. If it means pairing Smith up with a LeBron James, we can't argue with that logic.
