Waiver Wire Week 12: Must Add Pickups to Help Make the Fantasy Playoffs

Injuries to some of the NFL's marquee players paved the way for these free-agent pickups to make an impact on Fantasy Football teams.

Welcome to Week 12!

There are no teams on bye this week, so hopefully, your team is stacked with fantastic options as we head into the final weeks before the playoffs begin.

However, there is a high possibility that you may be in need at the quarterback position now that we know Joe Burrow is done for the season. It’s a significant blow, especially for those in two-quarterback leagues, who are now left scrambling and searching the waiver wire.

Another major blow is the loss of tight end Mark Andrews for the season. There are only a few elite fantasy options at the position, and managers who used an early draft pick will need to spend some FAAB this week for his handcuff. Luckily, Isaiah Likely has plenty of upside, and even those who didn’t lose Andrews should consider an add, as he could be an upgrade from whomever you are currently streaming. Don’t forget the value of blocking the Mark Andrews manager, either, if you have the room for a stash.

In running back news, it looks like Aaron Jones has avoided an ACL tear, but we could still be without him for a few weeks. Ken Walker, Jr. is unlikely to play on a short week, and it’s hard for managers to trust De’Von Achane after he left early for a potential injury to the same knee he had previously injured. See below for a few running back options to add.

Don’t forget that now is the time to start looking ahead for playoff stashes. Running back handcuffs should be rostered now, and make sure you are deep at QB, too, based on how this season is going. Aaron Rodgers could be worth an IR stash at this rate.

Now, let’s get down to business.
