Max Homa’s Confident Quote Heading Into Final Masters Round Had Fans Fired Up

Max Homa enters the final round of the 2024 Masters Tournament on Sunday in unfamiliar territory.

Through three rounds at Augusta National, Homa sits at five under par, good for third place on the leaderboard behind Scottie Scheffler (seven under) and Collin Morikawa (six under). He'll be paired with Ludvig Åberg in the second-to-last grouping off the tee Sunday, in serious contention to claim his first career major championship.

So, what's the plan for Homa on Saturday night and Sunday morning as he prepares for the biggest round of golf of his life?

"I came here with the gratitude and appreciation that I get to do it," Homa told reporters Saturday (via Fried Egg Golf). "I'm happy I get to do it tomorrow. I'm going to remind myself I'm a dog, and I'm ready for this moment."

Homa has mostly struggled in major championships since turning pro in 2013, as the best showing of his career is a 10th-place finish at the 2023 Open Championship. Homa failed to make the cut during his Masters debut in 2020, was cut again in '21 and finished in 48th and 43rd place the next two years, respectfully.

This weekend, however, is a different story. And Homa has plenty of fans behind him on social media who were excited to hear he plans on channeling that dog mentality:
