"Performance Doesn’t Stop at XL” is Callaway Apparel's latest tag line for its extended sizes of men’s golf clothing. The tagline heralds the brand's commitment to designing performance-driven apparel — the Callaway Big & Tall Collection — to help golfers succeed on and off the course — no matter how they are built.
The big and tall category is not new to men’s golf apparel, but sometimes it appears stuck in a time warp, not looking as updated or being constructed with the latest technical features. Callaway blurs the line between extra large and larger with a full array of high-performance sportswear for bigger and taller guys.
Clothing attributes such as stretch, breathability, fit and easy care play a role in how a golfer approaches his game. Josh Cassaday, a 6-foot-6-inch, 235-pound former NCAA Division I basketball player at South Dakota State, who is currently No. 18 in the Official World Long Drive Rankings, can feel the difference.
“Callaway Apparel has created one of the best lines of performance golf apparel on the market," he said. "Being a taller golfer, it is always a struggle to find clothes that allow me to swing naturally. They are either too big and baggy or too tight. Having confidence in my apparel allows me to swing faster and play better. Swing Tech actually allows the fabric to stretch during my backswing, instead of constricting my rotation."
The invention of Swing Tech involved re-engineered construction and materials that provide less restriction and more stretch to maximize range of motion on every swing. The technology makes it ideal for use in the big and tall collection.

Callaway Big & Tall polo shirts are available in sizes 1X-5X and LT-4XLT. In addition to Swing Tech construction, the tops feature engineered ventilation and Opti-Dri moisture wicking properties.
The bottoms are made with flex fabrics for added stretch and an active waistband in all shorts and pants. Sizes range from 42-56 waist and 36-42 inseam.
There is also mid-weight layering pieces for cooler early rounds, plus rainwear and thermal jackets for more challenging weather conditions.
Not only does this collection offer a vast array of big and tall sizes, it also offers something that is very limited to the XXL-plus consumer: variety.
“Our Big & Tall collection not only includes the everyday colors that the big and tall customer is accustom to seeing, but also products that feature bold colors, fashion prints and more,” DePallo said.
