GolfThreads: 2020 CJ Cup style recap

Justin Thomas revives the 1990s Polo bear; Bubba Watson laces up the Jumpman; and Ian Poulter rolls the dice on printed pants

Jason Kokrak (William Murray Golf | FootJoy)

Admittedly, I am not much into spirits (more of a craft beer guy), however, I was happy to see this William Murray Golf Barrel-Aged Polo make it to the winner’s circle. Seems like an appropriate celebratory shirt, eh?

Justin Thomas (Ralph Lauren Golf | FootJoy)

This TrendyGolf x Polo Golf Ralph Lauren shirt will warm your heart with the Polo golf bear placed strategically on the left chest. The pop of pink on JT’s belt is another little detail that makes this my favorite fit of the tournament.

Kevin Streelman (johnnie-O | FootJoy)

We are slowly seeing the brown leather belt make a comeback. It’s a great option for many of your Autumn kits. This is a great example of how to wear it.

Cameron Smith (Original Penguin | FootJoy)

Navy and an earth tone seem to be a winning formula for your brown leather belt. Cameron Smith rocks this look. I am all-in on this Original Penguin Bow-Tie Dobby Polo.

Tommy Fleetwood (Nike Golf)

I am down with the purple lettering on Tommy Fleetwood’s dope rope hat.

Bubba Watson (Oakley | Jordan Brand)

Breaking news: Bubba is wearing Jumpman shoes. These Air Jordan 34s with the Carolina Blue accents are slick.

WEEKLY FASHION GRIPES
Viktor Hovland

Why can’t Viktor keep his shirt tucked in? It’s a bit of a pet peeve of mine…

Sergio Garcia

Oh, my. Sergio looks like he should be operating the soda fountain in an old-timey drugstore.

Ian Poulter’s Pants

Ummm …. I am pretty sure the top pair of trousers is the design from a sweater that Dr. Heathcliff Huxtable wore on the Cosby Show. The bottom pair appears to be all-over poker chip print. Interesting selection, Ian. For all of you chomping at the bit to get your hands on the new FootJoy Premiere series, I hear we are still a month or two away from an official announcement, but it appears the release date is set for February 15.
