Golf fashion: New threads for a new season

Masters week typically rings in spring for the golf universe, but sometimes you have to ask 'Why wait?' and just get on with it — which is what we've done with these 10 spring looks available now

Say goodbye to winter — and all of the past year for that matter. There are things we expect the spring season to bring — a sense of renewal, buds blooming, birds chirping, bees buzzing, sun shining — and it’s a time to fully appreciate how the earth seems to come to life again.

Fashion helps us experience this rejuvenating period with uplifting colors, patterns and themes. Here are some standouts from spring's golf apparel collections that represent brighter days ahead.

FORAY GOLF | BONOBOS
Foray Golfpresents a Fantasy Floral print that contains every single color in its collection so that the pieces can be easily paired with each other and with the basics. You’ll find it boldly used on both tops and bottoms.

Bonobosreworked its Black Rosey print from last year's Justin Rose into an attractive colorway called Navy Somerset Roses. The stretch jersey performance polo features engineered mesh, eyelet vents at the underarms and UPF 50 sun protection.

J. LINDEBERG
We couldn’t help but notice J. Lindeberg featured many of its women’s spring photos with models wearing crew socks on the golf course. The concept is fresh and flirty, especially worn with a piece like the Bay Knitted golf skirt that has a flowy shape and cool vertical collegiate stripes.

CHERVO
We always love a good his ’n hers item and Chervo has delivered with the perfect sheer, lightweight, full-zip jacket. The Monday for women has cinched toggle waistband accents and braided stretch ribbon inside the hood for added style and comfort. The Martedi for men has navy blue accents and nautical cord zip pulls. Both are made from Aqua Block waterproof fabric with laser cut detailing for ventilation under the arms.

FOOTJOY
FootJoy's virtual global product launch was nothing short of impressive. Then you hear testimonials from tour pros — such as Rafa Cabrera-Bello, who commented that the new HyperFlex shoe was so comfortable he’d like a bed made out of it — and the street cred is real. The technology includes input from pro players and stems from the belief that starting with the feet, a solid base is the foundation of a good golf swing.

ADIDAS
Just when you thought nothing more could possibly be done to differentiate a polo shirt, enter Adidas' new Go-To collection for spring. The line features a flexible collar on the men’s top that buttons all the way up and pulls over your head like a t-shirt, but won’t lose its shape. The collection for both men and women includes tops, shorts, pants and a skort. There’s also a sustainability aspect as the brand's Primegreen initiative uses a series of high-performance, recycled materials.

ROYAL ALBARTROSS
Pink is for girls … and guys … and everyone. Royal Albartross would like to shatter the stereotypes of who wears what colors with its new, limited-edition Croco Pink all-pink golf shoe. Handmade in Italy with a Vibram outsole, supple calf leather upper and embellished in tonal faux-croc detailing, this shoe will knock your socks off. How refreshing.

G/FORE
Snapback, trucker, visor, bucket — G/Fore’s new collection of lids for spring has something for everyone. There’s still some with fun sayings like, "Need Golf" and "Can’t Break Par," but the two-tone blue bucket-style is sure to upgrade your hat game. Or the Skull & T snapback, featuring a tonal 3D emblem embroidered over classic seersucker stripe. Add sketched images of dripping skulls to the mix, as well as an all-over micro-skull print, on a navy visor and complete your outfit.

BELYN KEY
Laguna print conjures up visions of deep blue Adriatic seas and thoughts of traveling to exotic places. The soothing tones can be found Belyn Key's mesh-panel sleeveless polo, side-panel-tailored skort, 3/4-sleeve top, collar and sleeve accents on a navy zip keystone polo, and a front-zip skort. All the pieces are clean, sophisticated, moisture wicking and easy care.
