FootJoy's Black Watch Packard Takes on Scottish Look

FootJoy has collaborated with Harris Tweed Hebrides to create the limited edition Premiere Series Black Watch Packard that features the finely woven cloth across the saddle.
"Harris Tweed was the original uniform of choice in the Outer Hebrides, an early innovation statement for golfers performing in challenging elements," said Chris Tobias, FootJoy vice president of global footwear.
The Black Watch wool that was chosen for the shoe is dyed before being spun. That process allows for various colors to be blended into the yarn, creating a more complex-looking cloth.
For the fabric to be deemed actual Harris Tweed it must be, in accordance with the Harris Tweed Act of 1993, "handwoven by the islanders at their homes in the Outer Hebrides [Scotland], finished in the Outer Hebrides, and made from pure virgin wool dyed and spun in the Outer Hebrides.”
FootJoy's Premiere Series Packard pays homage to company founder Frederick Packard. While the Packard offers a very classic look, the shoe has a VersaTrax+ outsole comprised of multiple TPU compounds for improved on-course grip and off-course traction. The Harris Tweed saddle cloth is a blend of the blue, black and green wool.
The shoes retail for $270 and are available on FootJoy.com, while supplies last.
