2023 AT&T Byron Nelson Full Field: Last Stop Before the PGA Championship

Most of the world's best are resting for Oak Hill next week, but top Texans are good to go at TPC Craig Ranch.

The PGA Tour returns to Texas this week for the first of two stops in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Named for the five-time major champion and one of the game's great gentlemen, the Byron Nelson will host a full field of 156 players at TPC Craig Ranch, playing for a $9.5 million purse. It's the highest purse of any non-elevated event this season.

But being a non-elevated event and falling immediately before the year's second major, the PGA Championship, the Byron Nelson field has just six of the world's top 30 players (five of the top 30 SIWGR): Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Tom Kim, Tyrrell Hatton, Hideki Matsuyama and Tom Hoge. Scheffler and Spieth are beloved Texans and will draw big crowds. (Editor's note: Spieth withdrew Monday with a wrist injury.)

K.H. Lee returns as a two-time defending champion. Sung Kang won in 2019 (the 2020 event was canceled due to COVID-19), giving Koreans a three-year winning streak.
