The town known for showmanship will have some extra juice this week at its annual PGA Tour stop.

Lexi Thompson is teeing it up at the Shriners Children's Open in Las Vegas, accepting a sponsor's exemption and becoming the seventh woman to play in a PGA Tour event. The last to do so was Brittany Lincicome in 2018 at the Barbasol Championship.

Lexi Thompson hits an approach shot on the first hole during the final round of the 2023 LPGA The Ascendant golf tournament in The Colony, Texas.

She'll take on the 7,255-yard par-71 TPC Summerlin, a haven for birdies in the desert. Six of the last seven winners have shot at least 20 under, with 24 under being the winning score the last two years.

Tom Kim returns to defend his title and past champions Ben Martin, Ryan Moore and Webb Simpson are also in the field. Ludvig Aberg and Nicolai Hogjaard are scheduled to play, two weeks after playing on the winning European Ryder Cup team.

The event has an $8.4 million purse, with $1,512,000 to the winner.
