Bubba Watson Made a Wild One-Hop Ace at Masters Par 3 Contest

A casual 9-hole loop for the players and their families, the annual Masters Par 3 Contest is one of the most beloved traditions at Augusta National. The best players in the world fire at pins with spinny wedges, and every year some expert shots are produced.
On Wednesday, two-time Masters champion Bubba Watson demonstrated such a shot on the 4th hole of the recently renovated track.
Playing with Jason Day, the LIV Golf member shaped a wedge with some serious right-to-left spin. The ball took exactly one hop before it slam-dunked into the cup for an ace.
Watson raised his arms in the air and delivered a joyous first pump as mics caught him telling Day it was his first hole in one in the yearly contest.

Watson is making his first Masters appearance as a member of the Saudi-backed breakaway tour. Greg Norman, LIV’s CEO, has said that if a LIV player emerges victorious on Sunday afternoon, all 17 of the other members in the Masters field will celebrate with the winner on the 18th green. Norman was not invited to the 2023 Masters, according to Chairman Fred Ridley.
If Watson maintains the lead of the Par 3 Contest at 5 under par, fans will just have to wait and see if a similar celebration ensues.
