Withdrew: Rickie Fowler, from next week’s FedEx Cup playoff opener, the Northern Trust, citing a stomach injury. Fowler, 29, was hampered by an injury to his right oblique muscle during last week’s PGA Championship as he faded to a tie for 12th. Fowler said in an Instagram post that a magnetic resonance imaging test revealed a partial tear to the muscle. He intends to return in time for the rest of the four-tournament FedEx Cup playoffs and next month’s Ryder Cup, for which he has qualified.
