Scrapped: The first four tournaments of the PGA Tour’s China Series, because of the coronavirus outbreak that has killed more than 1,100 and infected 43,000-plus worldwide, mostly in China. The four canceled tournaments: Sanya Championship (March 23-29), Haikou Classic (March 30-April 5), Chongqing Championship (April 6-12) and Guangzhou Open (April 13-19). The move reduces the China Series schedule to 10 events and delays the start of the season until at least late May, officials announced Wednesday. The top five finishers on the China Series’ Order of Merit still will earn access to the Korn Ferry Tour, the final rung on the ladder to the PGA Tour, for next season.
