Golf News: Golf Channel to move to Connecticut, reports say

The all-golf network, which has been based in Orlando, Fla., since launching in 1995, is owned by NBC Sports Group, which operates out of Stamford, Conn.

Reported: By multiple media outlets, that Golf Channel will be relocating the network’s operations within the next year from Orlando, Fla., to Stamford, Conn. Golf Channel officials informed their employees Friday morning, according to the reports, which did not elaborate on how many staff members would be affected. Golf Channel was founded in 1995 in Orlando by media entrepreneur Joe Gibbs and the late golf legend Arnold Palmer. The network rode the rise of Tiger Woods into the 21st century. Golf Channel is owned by NBC Sports Group, which conducts most of its operations in Stamford.
