Golf news: Augusta National seeks schools’ help for Masters, report says

Requested: By Augusta (Ga.) National Golf Club, that schools in the region establish a fall break to coincide with the rescheduled Masters Tournament, according to an Augusta Chroniclereport, which citing a statement issued by the Aiken County (S.C.) Public Schools. The Masters, typically played during the second week in April, was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic and rescheduled for Nov. 9-12. Schools in and near Augusta typically coincide spring break with the Masters so that students and others can work during the tournament. The Richmond and Columbia county school systems in Georgia also are considering adjustments to their fall terms, the newspaper reported.
