Established: By the PGA of America, the Golf Emergency Relief Fund, to provide short-term financial assistance to workers in the golf industry who have been adversely affected by thecoronavirus pandemic. The fund, seeded with a $5 million pledge by the PGA and boosted by matching gifts, opened with a goal to raise and distribute up to $10 million to golf-industry workers, the PGA announced Monday. The grants will benefit various industry workers, golf association members, employees of local/state golf associations, caddies and some touring professionals on developmental circuits. Applications are being accepted beginning at 2 p.m. EDT Thursday, April 16 at this site. The news follows the recent establishment by the U.S. Golf Association of a $5 million relief fund to assist its 59 Allied Golf Association members.
